Åkestam Holst gave us the opportunity to create an interactive test for the swedish e-commerce industry. The test was a part of a campaign but it is also a long term solution for supporting and inspiring big and small e-commerce companys. Our challenge was to make the test entertaining and easy to take while keeping the information both serious and valuable to the user. Technically it was really challenging since the answers needed to be saved and compared with up-do-date industry benchmarks. At the end of the test the user was rewarded with a unique infographic poster with a summary of his or hers own answers compared with other e-commerce businesses in Sweden.
During the initial phase of the campaign a letter was sent by post to a selected group of Swedish e-commerce companys. The letter contained a unique code. By using it when logging in on the site they got some of their data presented in the questions. What they didn't know was that they would get the summary as an exclusive printed 50 x 70 cm version of the infographic poster in the mailbox. Surprise! A real poster to put on the wall in the office to show the colleagues.
Technically we did this by translating input data into dynamic SVG graphics combined with hi-res bitmaps. We did everything from structure, user experience, design, backend and frontend development to animation, 3D and print.
